Washington County Jail - Photos

These photos show staff training, and Juvenile Manager. We do not show images of inside the jail to protect inmates and our staff.

Photos

These photos feature some of the training necessary to keep Corrections Officers, staff and inmates safe. Although every effort is made to keep physical contact to a minimum, there are times when people taken into custody and brought to the jail are under the influence of drugs or alcohol and will not adhere to verbal commands.

In the event an inmate might become violent, our staff is trained in many verbal skills to speak with the inmate to try to calm the situation before resorting to physical confrontation. When this happens, the training skills for keeping everyone safe are instituted. These photos depict Correction Officers in training only and not true confrontation with any inmates.

The photos here are of general public areas throughout the jail. There are several areas in the jail for different inmates: full-time inmates; huber inmates; juvenile inmates. Each section is separate from the others. Each area has its own security and monitoring room. All sections of the jail are overseen by Master Control.
