Pursuant to Wisconsin State Statue 59.27(4) the Washington County Sheriff’s Office handles the service of legal papers within the county that are delivered to the Sheriff’s Office. Papers for service are accepted at the Sheriff’s Office Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. excluding holidays. Arrangements for mailing papers can be made ahead of time by contacting our civil process clerk at 262-335-4382. The only exceptions to accepting and processing civil papers outside normal business hours are temporary restraining orders and injunctions. These types of papers we will accept 24/7 for service.

Only papers for service within Washington County can be accepted for service.
