Administrative Support . . .

As you can imagine, there is a lot of behind the scenes work at the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. Much of this work is performed by specially trained personnel. The following are some brief descriptions.

Positions within the Washington County Sheriff’s Office for Support Staff

Each of these positions support the Sheriff's Office and the County Jail. The Administrative Secretary works for the Sheriff, handles personnel paperwork and supports this website.

The Information Services Technician II prepares, installs and configures all of our computer equipment and software in the office as well as in the vehicles. This position creates user profiles, procedure manuals and trains personnel in these processes.

The Office Assistants provide clerical support and data entry for the office. This position directs callers and assists walk-in visitors and performs miscellaneous support duties for deputies.

The Process Clerk works with the banks, attorneys and public to set up and organize the Sheriff Sales, works with record processing, warrants and accidents. This position also maintains financial reports and records, determines legality of papers, generates worksheets for officers, collects service fees, schedules foreclosures and processes papers for deputies to serve.

The Program Assistants provide clerical support, data entry, dictation, filing, working with callers and assisting walk-in visitors. This position will screen phone calls and refer callers as appropriate.

The Records Assistants complete background checks, review and invoice open record requests, maintain departmental database, and process mail. These positions back up the Process Clerk, work with alarm records, maintain and create new Standard Operating Procedure documents for the department, and execute and finalize the training process for all sworn and non-sworn personnel.
